On August 26, 1961 she married Charles J. Bertrand in Menominee MI, and together they built their home in Peshtigo and raised a son Charles S.
They enjoyed camping, craft sales, flea markets, greenhouse gardening and going through boy-scout activities to see Chuckie obtain the Eagle Scout award.
Viv was an excellent cook and baker. She loved having her family over for Kolache parties.
She also spent countless hours talking to family and friends on the telephone. Viv and her brother Roy went for daily rides, mostly to the cemetery to water the plants and to get a hamburger for supper.
Vivian spent the last three years living at Rennes West, and was given the best care there could be. She was treated like family, and Vivian felt like she was a Grandma to the girls that cared for her.
Vivian is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Chuck and Bev (Brabant) Bertrand;
and her fur-grandbaby Sparky,
a brother Emil,
a special niece who was like a daughter to her Carola Fritz
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Omer (Fran), Roy (Agnes), Harold (Liz), Clarence (Aileen) Fritz; sister Geneva (Leonard) Baldwin; brother-in-law Raymond (Donna) Bertrand; sister-in-law- Rita (Leonard) Ruleford and Blanche Fritz; father and mother-in-law Charles and Marion Bertrand; nephews Dennis and Jim Fritz; niece Janie (Baldwin) Cearfoss and her cherished Fur-grandbabies; Lucky, Rocky, and Rusty.
Due to the Corona-Virus restrictions, a private graveside service will be held. A celebration of Vivian's life will be held on a later date. The family would like to thank Rennes West for their kind care, Unity Hospice, Pastor Luke Myslik from Zion Lutheran and Mark Berth for doing a "drive by salute" on her way to the funeral home.
