Roy served in the United States Army during World War II.
On May 2, 1942, he married the former Agnes Behnke at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo. She preceded him in death September 12, 1995.
Roy was a life-time member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion and the BPM Retirees Club. He enjoyed woodworking and retired from Badger Paper Mill after 40 years of service. Roy was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Roy is survived by a son, Charles (Laura) Fritz of Iola, WI; four grandchildren: Jaci, Jessica and Jeremy Fritz and Joy Paffenroth; and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Emil (Blanche) Fritz; and a sister, Vivian Bertrand, both of Peshtigo, WI.
Along with his wife Agnes, he was preceded in death by a son, James; daughter-in-law, Karalyn; three brothers: Harold, Clarence and Omer; and a sister, Geneva Baldwin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo, from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Luke Myslik officiating. Full military rites will be held at Riverside Cemetery at 1 p.m. with the 20 Year Club.
