He was born July 15, 1911, at Duluth, Minn. He moved to Seattle in 1938, where he drove an oil truck.
Tardiff also worked for the Curfman and the Hamilton farms in the Oakville area area as a farmhand until his retirement.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed camping, crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.
He married Margueritte Jones in July 1964 at McMinnville, Ore. She survives at he family home. Other survivors include four sons, one stepson,; two daughters; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Tardiff of Duluth, Minn; Ellen Johnson of Cottage Grove, Ore.
Memorials may be donated to the Oakville Fire Department.
Visitations will take place at Whiteside Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements, in Elma until 9:40 a. m. on Thursday.
A graveside service for Joseph Tardiff will be at 11 a. m. of Thursday at the Oakville Cemetery.
