Lavonne (Anderson) Sims, 86, Martinsville, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the Grandview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville.

She was born on Saturday, August 13, 1927 in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late Charles L. and Mary Etta (Payton) Anderson.

Lavonne was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and would make everything from scratch.

She is survived by daughters, Tessa Blackketter and husband Bob and Sharon Wheeler and husband Jeff all of Martinsville; sister, Patricia Wilson of Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Bill Gray of Lebanon and Dawn Hoffman of Mooresville; great grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Ali Grace Hoffman and Gwyneth Gray.

Lavonne was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Ann Gray; siblings, Charles "Peck" Anderson, Richard C. "Dick" Anderson, Donald E. Anderson, Justine Denney, Betty Cure, Phyllis Jones and Barbara Koger.

A memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Dr. Carol Fisher officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 3:00 p.m.

A private burial of Lavonne's cremains will be at Nebo Memorial Park.
