Gerald's father worked for the City of Ferndale as a Laborer. At the age of 16 Gerald left home and went to Alaska to work.
Then Gerald "Jerry" joined the U.S. Air Force and where he became a sergeant.He was in WWII.
In NYC on Jan. 31, 1953, Jerry married Barbara Anne Bell b. Ap. 7, 1931 in New York City. She had joined the airforce a few years after high school. Jerry was her boss. After retiring from the Air Force they moved to Ferndale, WA, his hometown. Jerry worked for Cascade Gas Company.
Next the family moved to Eastern WA for about 6 years and then Jerry started his own heating business in Ferdale.

1. Michael Carlson (42) b. May 6, 1959 Bellingham, WA d. July 25, 2001 m.Karlene Pecaric. Twins: Cameron and Courtney Carlson
2. Ann M. Carlson of Bellingham and Mexico
3. Jeanne Carlson b.in Ferndale, WA married Larry Eagleman Jr.; Living in Port Townsend, WA
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, his two daughters and brothers and sisters .
Jerry's hobbies included golfing, fishing, hiking and parties with family and friends.
