A native of Center, he had resided in Marshall since 1923. He moved here from Martinville. He was the son of George Eugene Heflin of Appleby and the former Cora Davis of Center. He attended Shelby County Schools. He married the former Lillie Griffin on Oct. 18, 1957 at Hallsville. He was employed as a production worker at the Atlas Powder Co. here from 1924 to 1966. He was a member of the East End Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Heflin of Marshall; three daughters, Mrs. Benton (Jean) Ratcliff and Mrs. Don (Peggy) McCarty, both of Marshall, and Mrs. Leroy (Nancy) VanDyke; two sisters, Mrs. J. O. (Pearl) Chandler of Kirbyville and Mrs. Lester (Viola) Fowler of Shanoloo, La.; one brother, Alton Heflin of Marshall; and eight grandchildren.
