A. R. Pinson Of Near Here Died At Hospital In Quincy; Funeral Was Yesterday
A. R. Pinson of southwest of Edina, 53 years old, died at 12:45 o'clock Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 1958, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He had not been well for the last few years, being afflicted with cancer.
The body was brought to Edina to the Hudson Funeral Home, where it remained until time for the services. They were at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church here, of which Mr. Pinson was a member. The Rev. Allen Vancil, pastor of The Community Church of Edina, and the Rev. T. W. Stark, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery.
Mrs. Pinson and three daughters and a son survive: Mary Margaret, Mrs. Eugene Schrage, Hurdland; Doris, Mrs. Arley Peterson, Rutledge, and Joyce and Jimmie Pinson at home. There survive also four brothers and five sisters, who are: Paul C., Edwin C., Marion Leroy and Robert R. Pinson and Mary, Mrs. Emmett Whitmire, and Letha, Mrs. Pearly Thompson, of Edina and Leona, Mrs. Harold Slane, of Portland, Ore., and Mildred, Mrs. Burley Green, of Hollydale, Calif., and Alma, Mrs. Delbert Clary, of Kahoka.
Albert Ross Pinson, a son and one of ten children of Alonzo and Ora Ross Pinson, was born July 26, 1905, in Knox County, and was married Dec. 24, 1931, to Miss Letha Irene Hayes of southeast of Edina. To them were born the four children, all of whom survive. Mr. Pinson was a farmer all his life and lived on a farm eight and a half miles southeast of Edina.
