Mr. Clause grew up in Carencro, lived in Lafayette for 20 years, and was a current resident of Carencro for the past 35 years. He was employed with the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and retired after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Lafayette Parish Cattleman Association for over 30 years and also served as president for 2 years. A veteran of the military, Mr. Clause served in the National Guard from 1948 to 1956. He attended St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
