MARBLEHEAD, Ohio - Ruth B. Nathe of Stoutenburg Drive died Oct. 21, 2003, at Benedictine Hospital. She was 81.Raised in Pleasantville, she worked for the Red Cross in New York City during World War II and married Raymond J. Nathe on June 19, 1946. She moved to Phoenix, Ariz., for several years and then returned to Pleasantville. She taughtI kindergarten in the Pleasantville Union Free School District No. 9. In 1986, she moved to Marblehead, Ohio, where she was a member of the First United Church of Marblehead. She was a director for the Holiday Bureau in Marblehead and worked with the Danbury Township Food Pantry, providing food baskets for families in need. Born May 29, 1922, in Ossining, she was a daughter of the late Paul Thure and E. Florence Larsson Brorstrom. Survivors in addition to her husband of 57 years include three sons, Paul of New Paltz, Eric of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Carl of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Janet Potts of Missoula, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul Brorstrom and a sister, Grace Oakey, died previously. Services will be Nov. 8 in Marblehead, Ohio. Arrangements are by the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston.
