Grace Brorstrom Oakley, 83, 1034 So. 19th, Quincy, died Thursday, January 27, 2000 at her home. She was born June 23, 1916 in Pleasantville, New York, the daughter of Paul Thure and Edna Florence Larsson Brorstrom. On November 29, 1947, she married Burks Oakley in Pleasantville, New York. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Church Women United, Church World Service, National Audubon, Musselman Audubon, Illinois Audubon Societies, Illinois Nature Conservancy and Life Member of the American Birding Assoc Historical Society of Quincy & Adams County, Good Samaritan Home also it Auxiliary, and the Order of Eastern Star #546, New York.

Survivors include a son, Burks Oakley II, Champaign, IL, brother, Paul Thure Brorstrom, Pompano Beach, Fl, sister, Ruth Brorstrom Nathe, Marblehead, Ohio, 2 grandchildren, Christina Ann Oakley and Amy Elizabeth Oakley, Champaign, IL, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, January 30 at the First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Rodney Bakker officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 1pm - 2pm Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Nature Conservancy, Illinois Chapter.
