Raymond J. Nathe, 88, of Marblehead, Ohio died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Browning Masonic Assisted Living Center, Waterville, Ohio. He was born on June 12, 1919 on a farm in Sargent County, North Dakota, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Schoenborn) Nathe. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps-8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, Navigator (B-24's 30 Missions) to targets in Romania, Germany, DFC. On June 19, 1946, he married Ruth Brorstrom. They lived in Pleasantville, New York for 37 years before retiring to Marblehead, Ohio.

Ray was a retired Medical Instrument Designer, a clever designer who did beautiful, precise work. He was also a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his 4 children and 10 grandchildren: son: Paul (wife, Regina, grandsons, Matthew and Jefferson); son: Eric (wife, Margaret, grandson, Mark, granddaughters, Katherine and Anne); daughter: Janet Potts (husband, Dr. Donald Potts, grandsons, Daniel and Michael) son: Carl (wife, Ellen, grandsons, Kyle, Andrew, granddaughter, Emily). He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister: Irene Luellwitz, and brother: William A. Nathe.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, Ohio 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 with Reverend Daniel J. Ring officiating. Burial will be at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York at a later date.
