Clyde J. Burns, of Route 7 died at 8:35 a.m. Friday in Chillicothe Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Burns was a former Mead Corporation employee at the time of his death, had been managing Cline's Restaurant.

The son of Ernest and Bessie Grow Burns, he was born Nov. 2, 1909 in Union County. On May 7, 1931 he married Ruth L. Sampson, who survives.

Also surviving are his mother Mrs. Bessie Dickerson of Chillicothe; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Sheppard of Chillicothe, Miss Marjorie Burns and Mrs James (Jeanetta) Oates of Route 8, Mrs. Monte (Bonnie) Arledge of Columbia, S. C. and Miss Denise Burns at home; three sons Robert W. of Chillicothe, Jack F. with the Air Force at Amarillo, Tex. and William S. at home; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Mildred) Kight of Route 2 and Mrs. William (Joan) Duhl and Mrs. David (Marilyn) Carroll of Chillicothe; two brothers, Chester of Columbus and Paul of Chillicothe and five half brothers, John Dickerson of Buffalo N. Y., James Dickerson of Chillicothe, Carroll G. Dickerson of Waverly, Robert Dickerson of Trenton and William Dickerson of Wenatchee, Wash.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home with Rev. David Sagler officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Darwin Oates, Michael Duhl, James Oates, Robert Dickerson, John Carroll, and Damon Grow.
