Beloved Woman

Mrs. Annie Johnson died June 16, 1942. She was the widow of the late C. B. Johnson, who passed away about ten years ago.
Mrs. Johnson leaves to mourn her passing, six children, as follows: Willie Johnson, Lonnie Johnson and Mrs. Lola Patterson of Jackson; Mrs. Alma Broadwater, Mrs. Mary Jane Phillips and Mrs. Fannie Smith, of Crystal Springs. She also leaves 28 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. Also, two brothers, Dan and H. Young, and one sister, Mrs. Bettie King, all of this county.
Mrs. Johnson was 83 years of age and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. She was a constant attendant at church services as long as she was physically able, being a member since she was fifteen years of age.
Mrs. Johnson had been in declining health for some time, although she was able to be up most of the time. She had a heart attack and lived only a few minutes after being stricken.
She will be greatly missed, having lived in the same community for about 50 years.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W. L. Blackwell, with interment in the Old Crystal Springs cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Lee Phillips, Harvey Broadwater, Earl Patterson, Pvt. Harold Richard, Wilburn Phillips, and Johnny Johnson.
