Lloyd William Harsch
Lloyd William Harsch, 92, of 1309 Chester Ave. died at 4:50 a.m. Feb. 29, 1992, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born July 31, 1899, in Ottumwa to George Albert "Bert" and Flora Belle Larue Harsch. He married Mabel Othelia Larson on Sept. 23, 1922, in Ottumwa.
A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, he worked for Ottumwa Fitting Co., Day Plumbing Co., John Morrell & Co., Dain Manufacturing and was a licensed plumber beginning in 1933. He founded Harsch Plumbing in 1946, from which he retired in 1975. He was a member of Local 33 Plumbers and Steam fitters Union until his retirement. He followed and supported the American Legion Baseball program.
He is survived by his wife; two sons Kenneth and Larry both of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter; and a sister, Mabel Barnes.
The services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Lafe Culver of The Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jack Boal, Gene Flanders, Jim Guest, Joe Larson, Bernard Shaw and Charles Traxler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Box, Roscoe Day, Rex Edler, Bill Guest, Dale Hining, Ellis Knox, Albert Larew, Warren Larson, Joe McFarland, Harvey Ware and Jacob Williams.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Ottumwa American Legion Baseball.
