Larry was the second son of Arland W. and Rachel L. (Walker) Hatcher.

Larry was a Vietnam Veteran and served two tours in Vietnam.

After his discharge from the Army, Larry married Patricia Keefer of Lagrange, Ohio. Their three children are:

1. James Paul Hatcher (Patricia's son, adopted by Larry).
2. Larry Raymond Hatcher
3. Sara Elizabeth Hatcher

They later divorced. Larry also had another daughter:

4. Tamara Farris Woolwine

Larry had the following siblings:

1. Arland Edward Hatcher (1943 -)
2. Myrna Kay Hatcher Shull Jones (1950 -)
3. Timothy Dwayne Hatcher (1952 - 2021)
4. Beverly Gay Hatcher Taylor (1953 -)

Larry was a career over-the-road truck driver. He always wore a cowboy hat and boots. After his death his favorite cowboy hat was bronzed and placed on the family military wall next to the folded American Flag from his funeral and his military medals.

Larry died from lung cancer caused by his exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Larry is buried next to his aunt Cleo Delta Mills, known to family and friends as Ducky. She had a son, Denzell R. Mills, killed in Vietnam in 1967 and buried in Newfane, NY. In honor of Denzell, and all Vietnam Veterans, Larry had a plaque made and placed next to Duckys' grave. There is a bridge on Rt 19 that goes over the West Virginia Turnpike at Egeria Rd. In 2005 that bridge was named the DENZELL R. MILLS LARRY R HATCHER MEMORIAL BRIDGE
