Evelyn D. West, 88, of Cameron, died Monday, August 5, 2013, in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 9, at the First Baptist Church in Cameron with Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 8, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Evelyn was born in Rosebud, Texas, to the late Otto L. and Ida (Oker) Weiser. She married Archie West. Evelyn, a retired registered nurse for several medical facilities, had also retired as Chief Nurse for the Manned Space Program at NASA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Wayne, Larry, and Delmon Weiser; and sisters, Nan Lee Weiser and Ailene Coker.

Survivors include her son, Charles West and wife, Sandra, of Cameron; grandsons, Jason Coldiron and wife, Shelby, and Jeremy Coldiron and wife, Chelsi; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Weiser, of Rosebud; other relatives and many friends.
