Donald Cox of Eldorado, OH, died August 3, 2013 at the Dayton VA Hospice after a lengthy illness. He was born September 30, 1930 in Springersville, Indiana to the late Charles Robert and Gertrude Mae (Cain) Cox. Having graduated from Milton High School in 1948 he served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War.

He is survived by four daughters: Brenda (Charles) Jefferies of Westfield, IN; Colleen Walter, Karla (Paul) Bergfelder, and Penny Foster all from Richmond, IN. Grandsons Jeremy Jefferies, Shawn Steele, Ben and Blake Hogan and Derek Foster all of Richmond. Granddaughters Bridget (Cliff) Hazelbaker of Richmond, IN; Heather (John) Harley of Fishers, IN; and Emily Jefferies of Westfield, IN.

He is survived by 4 brothers: Robert (Jeannie) of Fort Worth, TX; Ralph (Edna), Centerville, IN; Ward (Nancy) Akron, OH; and Keith (Patricia), Milton, IN; and 3 sisters: Betty Darrah, Bentonville; Helen Smith, Connersville; and Alma McClurg of Jeffersonville, KY. He has 10 great grandchildren, and 21 nieces and nephews. Don also leaves several golfing buddies and a fishing buddy to cherish their memories of him on the golf course and lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 34 years, Evelyn; 3 brothers: Francis, Wilbur and Wade; a granddaughter Caitlin Walter; and 3 brothers-in-law: Bud McClurg, Leon Smith, and Robert Darrah.

Don retired from Natco Machine Shop and then spent several years delivering house trailers and modular homes all over the United States. If you mentioned a town he almost always could tell you a story about having transported a house trailer through the area. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Arrangements are being handled by Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton VA Hospice, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45420 or the Caitlin Walter Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o US Bank, 800 East Main Street, Richmond, IN 47374.
