Frank "Bucket" Russo July 6, 1910 - July 27, 2013 Resident of Pittsburg Frank Paul "Bucket" Russo was born in Pittsburg and lived there for all 103 years of his illustrious life. Frank was the son of Salvatore and Frances (Costanza) Russo, who emigrated from Isolla della Femmine, Sicily. Frank was a commercial fisherman in his youth learning the trade from his father and father-in-law (Neno Costanza) who are both on the list of Pittsburg's Pioneer Italian Fisherman. He often boasted of having the fastest net boat on the river. When the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers were closed to commercial fishing in the early 1950's, Frank took a job with the Western California Canners and later retired from there. He also operated a "Low Fare" taxi during the heyday of camp Stoneman. He loved to sing and dance and will be remembered by many as "the first and last on the dance floor". At 100 years of age he was interviewed at the Pittsburg Historical Museum and said "Pittsburg was a great place to grow up. Everybody knew everybody; we had the best town in the US". Frank "Bucket" was one of 10 siblings. He was a brother to Peter, Neno and Vincent; Helen Russo, Ethel Pareno, Marie Aiello, Frances Paniaqua, Angie Paniaqua and Rose Bartimioli. Frank was a member of Saint Peter Martyr of Verona Catholic Church for much of his life. He then attended Church of the Good Shepherd in his later years. Frank was married to Angelina Costanza Russo from July 1940 until her death in August 1952. They had three sons. After 12 years, he married Carmela "Millie" Casale D'Angelica. They remained married 46 years until her death in September 2010.
