Squire L. Smith, 35, bricklayer's helper for the Evans-Caldwell construction company, was fatally Injured at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning when he tell down the elevator shaft from the roof of the Abraham Lincoln hotel. Smith died at 9:15 o'clock at St. John's hospital where he was removed in Blsch & Son's ambulance.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Jaynes M. Smith; five sisters, Mrs. Mae Martin, Mrs. Maude Etchason, Mrs. Pansy Howard, Mrs. Paullne Moore, and Mrs. Lela Wood; two brothers, Judson and Pearl Smith.

Funeral services was held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence, 1919 East Jackson street, Rev. Mr. Gallup officiating. Interment
was made in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.—.Springfield Register.

Mrs. Maude Etchason. a sister, of this city(Flora), was unable to attend the
obsequies on account of Illness. Her husband, I. W. Etchason, attended the services.
