MRS. SARAH GORDON BURIED AT ARCOLA
Arcola, May 29. — The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Gordon, a well-known resident of Arcola, was held at St. John's Roman Catholic church at 9 o'clock this morning. Rev. Father Costello, the pastor, celebrated a requiem high mass assisted by the choir. A large number of friends of the family attended. The interment was in the Arcola cemetery.
Mrs. Gordon's death occurred Tuesday afternoon after a long period of ill health. She was a native of Ohio, having been born at Somerset Jan. 13, 1840. When she was nineteen years old she was married to George Gordon of the same place. His death occurred about three years ago. Twelve children were born to them. Six are dead. Those living are Rebecca of New York, Mrs. E. A. Griggs of Junction City, O., Charles J. and Bert of this city, and Hugh Gordon of Corsith, Ia.
