Esther Mae Timberlake Chezem, 79, Rowlett, Texas, and formerly of Rockville, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, in Lake Point Medical Center in Rowlett. She was a registered nurse and was employed for many years as Dr. Richard S. Bloomer's office nurse in Rockville, then as director of nursing at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton. Following her retirement, she often substituted as a school nurse for the Rockville Community Schools. She was born April 6, 1926, in Riverside, Calif., to Warren Everett Timberlake and Gladys Marie Myers Timberlake. She married Ralph Junior Chezem on April 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1995. Survivors include a son, David Michael Chezem and wife Deborah of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Jeanne McCall of Lafayette, La., and Susan Martindale and husband John of Royse City, Texas; a sister, Ramona Baer of Tippecanoe; two brothers, Lewis Timberlake of Michigan City and Jerry Timberlake of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jasen Cooper, Joshua McCall, Joy Martindale and Grace Martindale; three great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and extended family and loved ones. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Timberlake, formerly of Attica. Living in Rockville most of her life, she graduated in 1944 from Rockville High School and received her diploma as a registered nurse from Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was active in her community and served on the Parke County Board of Health for several terms, was a member of Chapter 177 Order of Eastern Star, Paul Taylor Post 1752 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and served on the board of the Parke County Unit of the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Rockville Christian Church, where she was active until relocating to Texas in 2000. Cremation was chosen. Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Gooch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad C. Bumgardner officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery.
