IMMIGRANT Peter Johnson, born about 1720, was a son of Robert Johnston and Mary Formont Johnston.

There are three possible sets of parents listed in this bio for Peter Johnson.
1. Robert Johnston and Mary Formont Johnston
2. Oliver Olle Johnson Jönsson and Magdalena Parker (Petersson) Jönsson
3. Gilbert Johnson, Sr. and Carolyn Johnstone
Which is the correct set of parents, if any???

Peter Johnson married Mary Polly Phillips. They had, at least, seven children.
**Helen C. Biedel shows 7 children (below).
**LDS Family Tree shows 15 children.
**Some appear to be the same child and entered twice by different names and different birth years.
**Previously had married on September 17, 1753 in Pennsylvania. This date is the date that Peter Janson (believed to be Peter Johnson) arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania aboard the Ship Richard and Mary, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. The manifest lists only males over sixteen years of age, so his family may have been on that ship at the same time.

"Peter Johnson came from Scotland, married a Polly [maiden name not shown] Johnson.
**Some researchers suggest Mary "Polly" Phillips may have been Peter Johnson's second wife.
Their children were:
Solomon,
Derie,
**Derie is probably short for Derrick, which was a nickname for Richard.
**If Derie is Lieut. Richard Johnson, then his birth date of 1743 is about 10 years before Peter Johnson and Mary "Polly" Phillips married.

James (b) in Penn., 1752, (d) 1835 (m) Elizabeth Lindsey,
