Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Lydia Rausch, age 86, who died Friday at Assumption Nursing Home, Cold Spring, MN. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.
Lydia was born in Avon, MN to Joseph & Mary (Albers) Athman. She married Bernard Rausch on June 24, 1950 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Avon, MN. She worked for the ROCORI School District as an Aide, mainly in the Media Center. Lydia loved to golf, bowl, play piano, fish and travel with her husband, Bernie. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and going on casino trips with her friends. Lydia was an avid Twins fan and loved watching sports. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and later her 2 great-granddaughters. Lydia was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Resurrection Choir, Christian Mothers, and Cold Spring American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Steve (Sandy) of Cold Spring, Curt (Betsy) of Chaska, Glen (Deb) of Acworth, GA, and Lisa (Kevin) Jungles of Rogers; brother, Alfred Athman; sisters-in-law, Monica Athman, Bernie (Athman) Meemken, Rose (Rausch) Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Jerome Rausch; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; brothers and sisters, Matilda Resseman (Joe), Rudy Athman (Irma), Richard Athman, Marietta Athman, Julia Goerss (Earl), Herbert Athman, Rita Lauer (Romuald); in-laws, Leo Rausch, Raymond Rausch, Veronica Wickersham, Norbert Rausch, Eleanor Rausch, Paul Rausch.
