Sartin, Basil Leon, of Glennville, Ga., died Sunday, January 25, 2004. He was born in Giles County, Va. on November 9, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucy C. and Joel W. (Jack) Sartin; three brothers, Oakley E., "J.W." and "Punk" Sartin. Basil is survived by the love of his life, Linda Ann Hinson Sartin; three daughters, Carrie Sue Williams, Rebecca Connor and Tina Kay Greenway; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; stepsons and wives, Jason and J.J., Stevie and Brooke, Scotty and Sam Hinson; three step-granddaughters; and one step-grandson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin (Pat) and Charlotte Sartin of Rich Creek, Alvin and Pam Sartin of Salem, Donald (Duck) and Shirley Sartin of Rocky Mount; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Gene Stafford, Estelle and Raymond Skeen, Linda M. Craft, all of Roanoke, Margaret C. Weis, Joann Sartin, both of Salem, Dreama and Donnie Page of Troutville. Special thanks to his friend, Stanley, for giving him a talking bird named "Lucky!" Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2004, 1 p.m., at Calvary Christian Center, 600 Craig Avenue, Salem, Va.
