Pete was an Army Veteran being honorably discharged as Captain. He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church in Bryson, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Eula Pearl Wood.

Among those who will cherish his memory include his brothers Jim K. Bennett and Samuel Douglas Bennett, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
