Walter S. Shaw, a son of Winfield W. and Teany Gearhart Shaw, was born at West Decatur on February 21, 1893.

He was married to Roberta E. Bush at Morgan Run in 1911.

At the age of 75 he died on August 30 in the Philipsburg State General Hospital.

Mr. Shaw had retired from the General Refractories Company at West Decatur.

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

His wife and the following children survive:
Mrs. Iva Shimmel, West Decatur; Mrs. Herman (Gladys) Vaughn and Mrs. Cecil (Alpha) Beach, both of Elyria, Ohio; Merrill W. Shaw, Cleveland, Ohio; Edward L. Shaw, Osceola Mills; Mrs. Max (Ruth) Ordorff, Philipsburg; Wayne R. Shaw, Fulton, MO; Mrs. Robert (Lena) Wisor, Allport; and Herman M. Shaw, Morrisdale.

At the time of his death 33 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters also survived him: Homer and Earnest Shaw, Mrs. Lewis (Carrie) Shaw, and Mrs. Wilson (Verna) Williams, all of West Decatur; Mrs. Eva Peters, Clearfield; and Mrs. Earl (Louise) Joseph, Greensburg.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and by two brothers and three sisters.

An obituary was published in Clearfield Progress on August 31, 1968.
