Funeral services for Curt A. Dobson Sr. were held Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Maysville Assembly of God Church with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home of Maysville.
Curt A. Dobson Sr. was born March 5, 1932 at Maysville, Oklahoma to Millard and Minnie Lee Johnson Dobson. He passed away August 10, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Curt has lived in this area all of his life. He attended French School, Maysville School and graduated from Wynnewood High. On October 27, 1949, he married Almeda Timmons. She was 14 and he was 17. Curt had 7.00 and paid the preacher $3.00 for performing the ceremony.
Curt was a 30 year retired employee of Kerr McGee Production Plant of Wynnewood.
Curt enjoyed hunting, fishing, vacations, improving land and making things look good. He was a member of the Maysville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Almeda, of their home; four children: James Dobson of Tulsa, Gwen Zachary of Platte City, Missouri, Curtis Dobson, of Maysville and Sharon Beck of Wynnewood; ten grandchildren: Jessie Dobson, Steven Dobson, Stacy Ewing, Shannon Goodwin, Samuel Dobson, Clint Dobson, Michael Haigood, Johnny Zachary, Rachael Mathis, and Jalisa Degering; 21 great grandchildren and a new little boy expecting in January; one sister Ruth Gardenhire of Duncan, and by other relatives and friends made throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Phil Dobson.
