Maude G. Hayes, 92, of 611 W. Corunna Ave., Corunna, died Thursday morning at the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. She had been ill since last August. The Rev. Terry A. Euper and the Rev. George Bolitho will officiate for the funeral services at Jennings-Lyons Chapel Monday at 11 a.m. Burial is to be in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hayes' family suggests that memorials may be made in her name to Morrice United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hayes was born in Gaylord on November 21, 1882, the daughter of John N. and Louisa (Ruess) Kline. She attended the Owosso Schools and graduated from Shiawassee County Normal School.

She and August (Gus) Hayes were married September 18, 1907. Mr & Mrs. Hayes resided in Owosso, then moved to a farm north of Morrice in 1921. They moved into Morrice in 1932.

A school teacher, Mrs. Hayes taught in Henderson, Bennington, and Hawkins schools. She was a member of the Morrice United Methodist Church, the Morrice Women's Club and King's Daughter.

Mrs Hayes was preceded in death by her parents John and Louisa Kline and her husband Gus Hayes.

Surviving are: two daughter, Mrs. Hazen (Grace) Stephens of Corunna, Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Headlee of Tampa, Fla; four sons, Kenneth of Corunna, Paul of Tampa, Fla., Harold of Romeo and James of Shaftsburg; one sister, Mrs Warner (Bessie) Hagon of Vernon, two brothers, Jay Kline of Owosso, Clarence Kline of Holiday, Fla., 22 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren.
