Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," October 6, 1956:

Roy L. Hull, 58, of 708 Pershing avenue, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at Ottumwa hospital.

He was born January 27, 1898, at Seymour, the son of William and Cora Mulligan [sic] Hull. He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of V.F.W., Post No. 775.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Betty Sowle of Romulus, Mich., Mrs. Genevieve Baird of Libertyville and Mrs. Esther Kennis of Ottumwa; and seven sons, Carl Hull, specialist first class, with the army at Ft. Eustis, Va., Glenn Hull of Ottumwa, Roy Hull, Daniel Hull, and Donald Cain, all of Denver, Pvt. Larry Barnhill, with the army at Ft. Benning, Ga., and Pfc. Robert Ryken, with the army in Verons, Italy.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Cora Ada Havener [sic] of Des Moines; his father, William Hull of Ottumwa; one brother, Ray Hull of Norris City, Ill.; and one sister, Mrs. Ora Hull of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, in 1937, and also by two brothers.

The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.

(Note: Roy's sister is shown in the obituary as Mrs. Ora Hull. I do not know if she also married a Hull, or if the Mrs. is correct, but I have transcribed it correctly.)

Funeral services for Roy L. Hull, 58, of 708 Pershing avenue, who died Friday night at Ottumwa hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. W.B. Friend of the Pentecostal Church of God, will be in charge and burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Military services at the grave will be in charge of the Walter B. Schaefer post No. 776, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pallbearers will be Jess Parcel, Marion Jackson, Samuel Smith, Sharman Crouse, Earl Butts and Archie Carnes.
