Darline Pickett Brown, age 88, passed away on June 28, 2013 at her home in Hurst, TX after a long illness.

She was born on Feb 1, 1925 in Afton, TX to parents Harvey Lee Pickett and Frances Elizabeth Pickett. Darline married Thomas Dewey Brown in 1950 in Clovis, NM. They were happily married for 62 years. Darline worked for the Hurst Public Library in the reference department for 5 years and she loved helping people and being around books as she was an avid reader. She loved traveling and visited cities in Europe, South America, Canada and the South Pacific. She also loved gardening, cooking, sewing, camping, hiking and oil painting. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.

Darline was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Bill Nance who died in 1945, her sisters Lycena Walters, Alma Barnett and her brother LJ Pickett.

Darline is survived by her loving and devoted husband Tom of Hurst, TX, their daughters Diana Ann (Don) Burk and Jill Lynn (Johan) Williams, grandson Ryan (Tricia) Burk, granddaughter Christy Burk, great-grandson Bennett Burk, sister Velma (Charles) Mills, brother Buddy (Francis) Pickett.

A visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Haskell, TX at 12 noon on Tues July 2. A graveside service will follow at Weinert Cemetery at 2pm under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
