She was born Oct. 17, 1926, on a farm south of Bazine to Martin and Anna (Depperschmidt) Stoecklein.
She began her postulancy on Aug. 27, 1941, at the Mother House of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. On July 1, 1942, she received the Holy Habit. She made her first vows July 1, 1943. Her first mission was at a hospital in Artesia, N.M. and Stillwater, Okla. In 1948, she received her registered nursing degree from St. Mary Hospital, Enid, Okla., and a bachelor's degree in nursing form Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. in 1968. Her 55 years of ministry included Enid, Tulsa, Okla., Stillwater, Artesia, Carlsbad, N.M., David City, Neb., Marion, Washington, Mo., and Wichita Center since 1987 where she also trained nurses.
Survivors include five brothers, Melvin, Independence, Mo., Leonard, Ness City, Jim, Hutchinson; Don, Spring Hill, Martin Jr., Eufaula, Okla.; and six sisters, LuVera Rohr, Great Bend, Cleo Werth, Hutchinson, Mary Ann Pavlu, Brownell, Sister Darlene Stoecklein, El Paso, Texas, Betty Gassman, Manhattan, and Donna Werth, Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorthy and Judith, three brothers, Harvey, Gary and an infant.
Services were today at the Mother House of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita, with Father Thomas Welk officiating; burial in the Convent Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials are suggested to the Adorers of the Blood of Christ Sisters Retirement Fund.
