OCEANSIDE - Erika Anna Boles, 80, died Monday, May 1, 2000, in Oceanside.

Born Aug. 26, 1919, in Manheim, Germany, she lived in Carlsbad and Oceanside for 54 years. She was a librarian for the Carlsbad Unified School District before retiring and a member of Young Ladies Institute, Stella Maris Chapter and Beta Sigma Phi.

Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Boles, in 1977. She is survived by her son, Philip Boles Jr. of Oceanside; daughter Erika Galloway of Carlsbad; sisters Helene Dodd of Oceanside and Madelaine* Liebold of Portsmouth, Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 5, at Oceanside Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve McCall officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 8514 Commerce Ave., San Diego, CA 92121.

Oceanside Mortuary is handling arrangements.
