Below is a transcription of a letter from Joseph Henderson Fox to Susie Bright that was in the possession of her daughter Donie Dunn:

Winsboro, Wood Co. Texas
Jan 14 1884

Dear Susie
I am happy to
inform you that we have
reach the land of our journey.
We have had some very
cold weather, if winter dont
break, I am going to follow
your example, stop and make
a fire on the road side.
Just a few more days
and I will be homeward
bound. Tell my Dearest Girl,
I left my heart, warmest
love and strongest hope in
her gentle keeping. I hope she
will never betray my trust.
Allow me to sign myself,
Yours, J. H. Fox

He married Susan Bright 17 Jan. 1885 in Choctaw County Mississippi. They had 11 children, 3 daughters and 8 sons. The photograph is of the family of Joseph H. Fox and his wife, Susie, about 1904.
