Mr. Garmon was a former Norcross Councilman and a Dispatch Supervisor for a pipeline company. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Garmon also played Pro Baseball with the Pirates organization in 1953.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie J and Clyde C Garmon, and a daughter, Regina.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, Norcross. Burial will be in Peachtree Memorial Park.
Mr. Garmon is survived by his wife, Millie Garmon, Maysville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Shirley Garmon, Union Point, and Randy and Alycia Garmon, Braselton; grandchildren, Eric and Dustin, Maysville, and Jacob, Elizabeth and Art, Union Point; great-granddaughters, Abby and Lexie; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Clark, Stone Mountain, and Mrs. Rena Cooper, Tucker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Monteen and Hugh Green, Maysville, Mrs. Doris and John Tullis, Doraville, Mrs. Sara and Homer Yawn, Harrison, Ariz., and Mrs. Carolyn and Don Thompson, Norcross; mother-in-law, Dessie Elrod, Commerce; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
