Kent West, 39, of Robbins, died December 10, 1999, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Scott County, July 21, 1960, he was the son of the late James Coleman and Opal Byrd West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded also in death by two children, Daniel West and Leann West; one brother, Jimmy West; and three sisters, Alma Gay, Cleda and Lucille West. He was a member of Black Creek Cross Roads Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hamby West; two sons, Brandon Kenneth Michael West, and Andrew Kent West; two daughters, Sherri Anita West, and Amber Nicole Hamby; one step son, Eddie Gurerra; two grandchildren, three brothers, Johnny West and wife, Nancy of Toledo, Ohio, Raymond West and wife, Paula, and Jackie West, both of New Castle, Ind.; six sisters, Faye and Richard Wine of Muncie, Ind., Patsy and Jim Hancock of Indianapolis, Ind., Anna and Mark Malson of New Castle, Ind., Evangeline West of Robbins, Rosezetta Lewallen of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Pauletta West of Helenwood; mothers and fathers-in-law, Brenda Newberry and husband Frank, Robert Butler, and Lillian Hamby; special friends, Dockey Lewallen and George M. Griffith; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted December 13, 1999, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral home with Rev. Charles Ellis and Rev. Carlie Lewallen officiating. Music was provided by the Mason Family. Interment followed in Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
