Leann Michelle West, 4 1/2 month old daughter of Kent Coleman West and Edwinna Michelle Webb West, both of the Black Creek Cross Roads community, passed away Tuesday morning, January 14, 1986, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville following a lingering illness. Leann who was born on August 29, 1985 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, was preceded in death by one infant half-brother, Daniel Coleman West. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by one half-sister, Sherry West of the Mill Creek community in Morgan County; one half-brother, Andrew Kent West of Wartburg; grandparents: Conlee and Jean Miske Human, both of Deer Lodge, and James and Opal Byrd West, both of Robbins; great-grandparents: Tressie Gibson Morabito of Arcadia, Fla., and Rhoda Hutson Byrd of the Black Creek community; her great-great-grandmother, Deliah Hicks Hutson of Huntsville; and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, with Rev. Carlie Lewallen officiating. The Lee Griffith Singers sang.
