Dorothy Florence Evanski was born on November 6, 1892 in Detroit, MI as Theodora Florence Nowak the daughter of Anthony & Victoria (Krych) Nowak. She was the eldest child and had four younger siblings which consisted of Frances, Walter and Sally Nowak, also a half sister that was much younger Lucille Drazkowska. Before marrying Stanislaus J. Iwanski in 1912 Dorothy worked at a cigar factory in Detroit. She lived in several neighborhoods in her lifetime nearly 30 years of it was spent in Detroit until moving with her Husband: Stanley and two children Edna & Robert. They moved to Sherwood Rd. in Sumpter Twp. (Belleville, MI)., In 1924 and bought 40 acres of land which Evanski's still live on. They built on to the home that was standing on the land. Stanley dug out the basement and later added a upstairs to the home. Dorothy was widowed on Sept 13, 1941 when her husband Stanley "Steve" died. She lived for a little over two years after that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and died at the William Seymour Hospital (Building C at Eloise which specialized with Cancer at the time). She was 52 when she passed away. She left behind six children which included: Robert, Dorothy, Richard, James, Beatrice & Chester Evanski. Also her mother Victoria Drazkowksa of Detroit. Her siblings Frances (John) Konkel, Walter (Sophia) Nowak, Sally (Frank) Jablonski, her half sister Lucille (Martin) Wekwert. Also numerous Nieces & Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
