Stanley Joseph Evanski was born February 17, 1890 as Stanislaus Joseph Iwanski the eldest son of Joseph & Mariah (Pozlana) Iwanski. He was born in Poland it is believed. It is stated in several different areas that he was born in Detroit, MI which is untrue, also that he was born in Germany which could've been a possibility due to its extremely close Borders with Poland. That is also the fact with his closest in age sister, Sally. Stanley grew up in Detroit with his family. His Father died when he was only 10. "Steve" as he was often referred to: was a molder before moving to Sumpter Twp. Where he was a farmer and worked at Ford Motor Company, Flat Rock, MI Plant. Stanley died on Sept 13, 1941 in his home. He left behind his wife: Dorothy, Children: Robert, Dorothy, Richard, James, Beatrice & Chester. He was preceded in death by four of his daughters which include Eleanore, Virginia, Edna & Veronica. Also both his parents. He is survived by four sisters Sylvia "Sally" (Joseph) Knight, Victoria "Vicki" (William) Knight, Teckla "Tillie" (Joseph) Rosshirt, Rose (Wesley) Costen and Francis " Frank " (Stephanie) Evanski. Stanley was buried out the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home (Now Higgerson & Neal) in Belleville. Services took place at St. Stephen's Church and burial was at the Church Cemetery that day.
