She was stillborn at their home south of Banks, Pike County, AL. Her Father's mother (her Grandmother), Nancy Jane Hurst Copeland acted as mid-wife for their first child.
Willie Lee is buried in an unmarked grave in Cotton Cemetery, which holds many of her Hurst and Johnson ancestors and kin. One older family member said that she was buried at the feet of an ancestor, William H. Hurst, in a grave circled in bricks.
Many years later when I visited Cotton Cemetery with my Mother (who was Willie Lee's youngest sister) we saw no circle of bricks at the feet of W. H. Hurst nor any of the other family members and spouses, although we did see that there was a row of infant graves in front of the row containing some of her earlier ancestors and other family members, Berry King, Louisa Ann Hurst King nee' Johnson as well as other family members who died later, such as her Grandmother Nancy Jane Hurst Copeland.
My personal speculation is that she may have been buried at the feet of her Grandmother's brother William W. J. Hurst., rather than the earlier William H. Hurst, since that first row nearest the road seems to be only infants and very young children. But the exact grave location remains unknown.
