Bill worked for Baldwin Locomotive Works as a mechanic in Eddyston, PA. In 1955, he went to work for Westinghouse in Eddyston. Bill moved to Stevensville in 1960 and became caretaker at Mattapex Plantation. In recent years, he did carpentry in the area for local people. He was a member of the KI Elks Lodge # 2576 in Stevensville, MD.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Jean Harris and her husband Larry; two grandchildren, Larry Harris and his wife Michele, and Dwayne Harris, all of Wilmington. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel May Barr in 1998; and son, William L. Barr in 1988.
A memorial service will be held on July 19, at 10:00 a.m., at Iron Faith Fellowship, 500 Duncan Road, Wilmington. Burial will be next to his wife and son in New Enterprise Cemetery.
