Betsy was the wife of John Alexander Martin. They were married on October 24, 1833 in Nicholas County, Kentucky. Following their marriage, she relocated from Nicholas County, Kentucky to Brown County, Ohio (where John lived at that time) and thence to Lawrence County, Illinois in 1853.
She remained in Lawrence County, Illinois for the remainder of her life.
To them were born eight children: Sarah Jane Martin Ridgley, Nancy A. Martin, George W. Martin, James Henry Martin, Charles Martin, Prudence Louisa Martin Williams, Jackson Martin and Robert A. Martin.
