Funeral services for Othel Jackson King, 72, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Ed Hopkins officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Calton King and Alice Pauline Willard King, on December 11, 1940 in Brandsville, Missouri and died May 29, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage April 15, 1971 in Clay County, Missouri to Joyce Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Johnson King, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Jacky King of Kansas City, Kansas, Cheryl Brown and husband, Dean, Salem, Arkansas, and Allen King and wife, Alea, West Plains, Missouri; six brothers; four sisters; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He attended the Center of God Church in West Plains, Missouri. He was employed with DRS for over 25 years. He loved hunting, guns and gun repair. He also enjoyed bowling and horseshoes, in which he had won several trophies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather, and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Elk Creek Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
