FRED M. ALBANESE, 70, of 675 Alayne Avenue, Galion, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2001 at Marion General Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Albanese was born February 4, 1931 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. He retired from General Motors after 32 years and was a member of U.A.W. Local 549. Mr. Albanese was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Freddie Lou Reeder of Bellville, LeAnn & Gary Crawford of LaRue, Ohio, JoFreda Smith of Crestline, Deena Strohm of Galion, Nicole & Terry Laney of Kentucky, and Delena & Jose Gonzales of Crestline; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick & Rose Keller Albanese; four grandchildren and three brothers.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services to be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ontario Cemetery.
