Marie Ellen Albanese, 83, of Arlington, Va., formerly of Berkeley Springs, died on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington.

Born April 18, 1922 in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Nick and Rose Lee Keller Albanese. She had attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

She was a 1940 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked at the Morgan County Courthouse during the late 1940s. She was a retired secretary from the U.S. Department of the Navy and the Pentagon in Arlington. She had been a homemaker in recent years.

She is survived by two sisters, Virginia D. Luttrell, Winchester, Va. and Dolores I. Reed, Clear Spring, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry W. Albanese, Frank W. Albanese, Richard "Nick" Albanese and Fred M. Albanese.

A funeral liturgy will be offered at i0 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 116 S. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Joseph Arrangements handled by brant.
