Aron Stephenson, Sr., 83, of Mukilteo, died January 31, 2001.

He was born September 24, 1917 in Angier, North Carolina, the son of Dewey and Frances Stephenson.

He married Eva Hyland in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1997.

Aron enlisted in the US Navy in 1938. He served in WWII, Korean War and Vietnam. He traveled to the Philippines, Guam and Japan. He retired BMC in 1969. Aron was a long time member and past commander of Mukilteo VFW and member of Mukilteo Christian Assembly Church.

He is survived by one son and three daughters, Ardys (Bill) Scheller of Mukilteo, Aron (Sharon) Stephenson of Clinton, Wash., Linda (Tom) Dixon of Arlington, and Jan Christianson of Index; a special niece, Brenda Lehman of Mukilteo; 12 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Violene Earles, Virginia Byrd and Bessie Baker, all of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his wife and three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2nd at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Restlawn Cemetery in Edmonds.&pe&Memorials are suggested to the North West Hereditary Disease Foundation, c/o Frontier Bank, 2825 Colby, Everett, WA 98201.
