John D. O'Brien, 91, of Barnesville died Friday, May 31, 2013 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Barnesville on May 3, 1922 to the late John and Blanche "Mossie" (Triplett) O'Brien.

John was a retired truck driver from Pomco. He was a member of the Assumption Church and the VFW Post 2792.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen C. O'Brien; son, John A. O'Brien; 3 brothers: Charles, Arthur and Will O'Brien; and 5 sisters: Kate Ryan, Helen Thompson, Edna Grendell, Mary Wilson, and Alice Henry.

He is survived by 4 grandchildren: John R. O'Brien of Barnesville, Jeannie (Tom) Hannahs of Barnesville, Julie (Bobby) Ross of Barnesville, and Joni (Jason) Carpenter of Barnesville; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Bossman of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3 from 4-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at 9am at the Assumption Church in Barnesville with Msgr. Mark Froehlich officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
