Funeral services for Merle Mildred Welch, 83, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Williams-McCracken Funeral Chapel, Bro. Quintin McCay officiating, with interment in Simcoe Methodist Cemetery.
Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Welch died Wednesday, March 8 at Woodland Medical Center. She was a member of Simcoe Church of Christ and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on Sept. 29, 1922, to A.J. and Ada Estelle Waldrop Deese.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arlie Cale Jr.; her parents; her husband, Arlie Welch; four brothers, Cleon Deese, Norman Deese, Iral Deese and Duell Deese; and one sister, Forrest Gorham.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita (Robert) Osborn of Decatur, Glenda Harris and Leese Ann (Jason) Butler, both of Cullman; two brothers, Jean Deese and Buell Deese, both of Cullman; five grandchildren, Danny Harris, Jamie Harris, Brandi Richter, Shanna Richter and Nathan Richter; and four great-grandchildren, Justan Harris, Brandon Richter, Jade Harris and Somer Harris.
Pallbearers will be Danny Harris, Justan Harris, Jamie Harris, Nathan Richter, Jason Butler and Ed Richter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
