Funeral services for Jean Waldrop Deese, 87 of Holly Pond, formerly of Cullman, will be Monday, Jan 7, 2013 at 11am at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Rev Michael Deese officiating with burial at Simcoe Cem.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr Deese died Saturday, Jan 5, 2013. He was born in Cullman to Andrew Jackson and Ada Waldrop Deese. Mr Deese owned Jean Deese Insurance Agency. He was a WWII US Navy veteran serving on the USS Alabama, Canberra and Nevada. He was a member of the Masons and VFW. He was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ and had been a missionary to the Ukraine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bettye Adams Deese.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Sherrilline Deese; a brother Buell Baines Deese; and grandchildren, Robert Deese II, Brnet (Chelsea Deese, Michael Deese, Courtney Deese and Jonathan Deese.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 6, from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
