Mrs. A. F. McDougall, formerly of Roscoe, succumbs in Michigan
A native of Roscoe, Mrs. A. Franklin McDougall, 59, Ypsilanti, Mich., died suddenly at her home at 2:30am Thursday as the result of a stroke.
Beulah M. Mirise was born Sept 11, 1890, a daughter of L. M. and Rachel Mirise. Her parents died when she was young and she was reared in the Home of her great aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Passmore of Pleasant Hill, Jackson township.
Mrs. McDougall attended public school in the township and later graduated from Michigan State Normal college in Ypsilanti. She taught in the public schools in that city, prior to her marriage to A. Franklin McDougall, who survives. Also surviving are two foster children, Robert and Betty, both of the home; a brother, J. H. Mirise of Columbus; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Foster of Warsaw, and Mrs. Eveleen Green, Portland, Oregon. One sister preceded her in death. (The rest is illegible.)

Mrs. Iva Foster, Warsaw, her son, Paul T. Foster, Nellie, and her sons of Masons between 15 and 20, Mrs. Blake Silverthorne, Newcomerstown, Route 2, has returned from Ypsilanti, Mich., where they attended the funeral of the former's sister, Mrs. A. Franklin McDougal (Beulah Mirise). They also visited in Romeo, Lakeville and Pontiac before returning home.

Coshocton Girl Takes First Prize

The many friends of Miss Beulah Mirise, formerly of this city, and Roscoe, will be interested to know that she is making a splendid record in her studies in the Puget Sound University in Tacoma, Wash. According to a letter received by her father, L. M. Mirise, of this city, yesterday, Miss Mirise recently captured the first prize in an oritorical in the university for which she was awarded $15 in gold.
After leaving Coshocton Miss Mirise completed a literary course in Northwestern university at Chicago and is now engaged in taking a special course towards perfecting herself for a kindergarten teacher in the far western school. Her sister, Miss Eveleen Mirise, also a fomer Coshocton girl, is at present superintendent of a kindergarten in Seattle, Wash.
