"Ex-Chicoan Dies in Sacramento.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Christian Service Society here for William Albert Henderson, 75-year-old former Chicoan who died Sunday at a Sacramento hospital. Born in Wayne County, Ky., Mr. Henderson moved to Los Angeles in 1899 and lived there until the age of 21, when he moved to Northern California. Employed mostly in farm work, he came to Chico from Sacramento in 1918 and lived here 36 years until moving back to Sacramento recently. He is survived by his wife, Ella, of Sacramento; seven sons, Harley A., Robert O., Richard E., and Leland D., all of Sacramento, Stanley H. and Clifford W., both of Chico, and Lloyd E. of Kentucky; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Gehres and Mrs. Alice M. Guidi, both of Sacramento, and Mrs. Virginia Tornquist, of Des Moines, Iowa."

Ray Lockwood, pastor of the local Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the CSS Cemetery on the old Oroville Road. Friends may call at 1508 Locust Street from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday."

William was born in the Village of McHenry, Ohio County, KY, the 4th child of Robert Alvin Henderson (born 1848 on the Cumberland River, Wayne Co.,KY, died 1899 in Los Angeles, CA) and Margaret (Maggie) Jane Taylor (born 1853 in Adair Co, KY and died 1927 in San Francisco, CA). His siblings were Robert Lovell, 1872, Mattie Frances, 1876, Mary Elizabeth(Bessie), 1879, William Albert, 1879 were all born in Kentucky, Jessee Lee, born 1886 in Texas, and Florence, born 1889 in Los Angeles, CA.
1880 CENSUS, Village of McHenry, Ohio, KY shows him to be 2 months old. 1900 Census, Los Angeles, CA shows he was born in Mar, 1879. His death certificate and California Death Index shows his birth to be March 25, 1879 based on information provided by his widow, Ella. Later information from a relative gave his birth as Mar 23, 1880 and that is the date shown on the headstone provided by his children in 1994. Various Census records shows his birth to be 1879, 1880, 1881 and 1884.
